Course Delivery

The course follows the standard pattern of presentations by the instructor, discussions, and hands-on exercises. Course materials are provided both on-line and in paper copy.
Since UNX02 is all about setting up a Linux box, it is advisable to have some surplus computers to practice on.

Prerequisites

None. UNX01 can be taken as a 1-day standalone introduction to the Linux environment for those who will be users rather than administrators. For administrators, since Perl is universally incorporated into all the major Linux distributions, a good combination would be UNX02 and UNX03 together with the first three days of Perl Programming.

Who should attend

The course is suitable for organisations which are switching from Windows to Linux, or who are considering doing so - either their server infrastructure, or on the desktop - and need to train up teams of IT staff to gain a basic familiarity with the platform.

Please note that we do not run public, scheduled courses; what we offer are "single company events" - training courses for particular organisations, usually tailored to their specific requirements, and run on-site on their premises (or at an agreed training site otherwise).
